Science & Social Studies

As part of the science and social studies curricula at ACCS, students will engage in project-based learning units following various themes. Using an extensive library of more than 100 books that support each theme, students will engage in extensive informational reading, writing and research on sub-topics of their own choosing.

Students are guided in their research by key questions and tasks that help students collect and classify relevant information in their readings and eventually write their own books on their self-selected sub-topics.

The project-based units will help students improve reading and writing skills, expand background knowledge, learn researching skills, and produce a final project, such as a research paper or self-authored book.
