ACCS has completely revamped its Reading and Literacy program to ensure full alignment with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. The updated curriculum follows the New Jersey Curriculum Frameworks in a structured, sequential manner. For the 2024-2025 school year, K-5th grade scholars will be using the McGraw Hill Wonders Program, based on the Science of Reading, while 6th-8th grade students will engage with McGraw Hill StudySync. Both programs cover a variety of reading and writing genres, providing a well-balanced literacy experience. Additionally, the Fountas and Pinnell program has been integrated to offer guided reading and small group instruction.

Students in K-2nd grade use the Wilson Fundations program to strengthen phonemic awareness, a critical component in building a strong literacy foundation.

In keeping with the school’s mission to empower students through the development of essential academic skills, the Reading and Literacy program is interwoven across all subject areas.
